Pollard's amazing performance
Plenty of sides have collapsed when batting second and chasing totals that were within their grasp, but it is rare that a bowling sides loses a game where the game where the victory was all but theirs.
The performance by Kieron Pollard yesterday was a sensational one as he took hold of a game that was dead and buried. To put it into context, Trinidad and Tobago needed 51 off 4 overs, with 2 of those able to be bowled by Brett Lee.
Brett Lee didn't even get to bowl his second over such was the power of Pollard's innings.
Moises Henriques was the bowler who was on the end of Pollard's power as he smashed 54 off just 18 balls, and you could see by the end of the seventeenth over that he was shot. I'm sure anyone who has bowled in a game has had at least one over that by the end of it they are dreading even running in and delivering the ball.
Usually, at the end of the over you are reprieved by the captain but after a tight Brett Lee over (only conceding 8) Henriques was again thrown the ball.
Three balls later the game was over.
Cue a superb celebration from Pollard as his team mates rushed to engulf him, and I'm sure many neutrals are now nailing their colours to the Trinidad and Tobago mast for the remainder of the tournament.
