"We're very confident, and if we could get Hussey early, it would be fantastic. We've played some good cricket since the fourth day at Brisbane, and if we can continue in that vein tomorrow, we're in the box seat."In an ideal world, we would have had them eight or nine down, but we're facing a very resilient Australia team. It's important I get the ball on the last day. It's a decent pitch so it will be a case of being patient."
No doubts about it that Swann will be the match winner if England ultimately triumph on the final day.
There was plenty of evidence as day 4 progressed that the ball is beginning to spin more and more and weather permitting there is no reason for that not to continue.
The wicket from the final ball of the day was a big one for England and tilted the balance even further in their favour. With two left-handers now at the crease it would not be a surprise to delay taking the new ball that will be available and give Swann a sizeable spell from the word go.
Of course Australia can't get themselves out of it, but much relies on the two batsman who will resume - Michael Hussey and Marcus North - and the next man in, Brad Haddin. The tail appears to offer little in the way of resistance and a couple of wickets early in the day should see England wrap up the game and get one hand on the Ashes heading to Perth.
Should they take a 1-0 lead it is hard to see Australia recovering. The knives are already out and should they suffer an innings defeat to an England side so often dominated in Australia then things could get very ugly for Ricky Ponting and co.
